Visual communication with Instant Ad Lite

I spy, with my little eye …

Online advertising has a number of advantages: quick and easy adaptations, efficient targeting, constant visibility (24/7/365), direct visual communication… these are advantages for those advertising but also for you, the viewer. Why is that? Continue reading. Goldenpages.be  takes a look at internet marketing from another perspective.

Online advertising

Take your pick:

An online ad is:
a) something I don’t pay any attention to
b) something I find rather bothersome
c) something I regularly click on
d) something I’d like to know more about

You probably think that we hope you’ll select the last option, since we are a company specializing in online communication. But nothing could be further from the truth. Whatever you choose – especially when you go for option “b” – it’s worth your time to continue reading. The sole purpose of this text is to help you see online advertisements for what they really are: useful messages.

Internet marketing from another angle

In this first part of a series of posts in which we uncover the advantages of online advertising for you – the user/visitor of goldenpages.be, we’ll talk about Instant Ad Lite, one of the online advertising options presented in detail on our Business Centre.

What is Instant Ad Lite?

To go straight to the point: Instant Ad Lite refers to the blue rectangles with white text that appear below certain company details (which appear on the results pages of goldenpages.be). These online advertisements are links to promotions or new products.

Why would you spend even a fraction of a second reading these ads?
Because they are much more user-friendly than customer-friendly! Let us tell you why:

• Instant Ad Lite is a seasonal advertisement: it is often used to announce deals and temporary holiday discounts.

E.g.: You’re getting ready for your annual skiing trip, and you go to goldenpages.be to find a store specializing in winter sports equipment. An Instant Ad Lite such as the one on the left, might end up being a great money saver.
Or perhaps you are thinking of surprising your partner on Valentine’s Day with a nice breakfast delivered at home or a weekend at a health resort? Thanks to temporary Instant Ad Lites, you might be able to stretch your Valentine’s Day budget a bit more than you think.

• Instant Ad Lite is a short advertisement with a link: no more than one line of text is used to highlight an asset of the company or to announce the arrival of a new product.

E.g.: You’re on goldenpages.be, trying to find a restaurant for Saturday night. On the results page you find the address and phone number of a certain restaurant with a blue line, an Instant Ad Lite, below.
In this Instant Ad Lite, the restaurant owner notifies you of his specialty, or lets you know that his menus are available online. Useful information to know! It might help you decide where to go.

Just one instant is all you really need to read an Instant Ad Lite and have a little light bulb blink on in your mind. Great things often come in small packages.

What kind of information do you think should be put in an Instant Ad Lite?
Is there another color that you’d find more appealing for this type of ad?

Let us know. We’re interested in hearing your opinion!
